Essmann's Cabinetry and Millwork Inc. began in the late 1970's
as a dream of Dean Essmann, a high school student in
Menomonee Falls. Dean had learned early on
that he had an eye for both design and detail,
along with the ability to fabricate with his own hands.

Dean began building cabinets and furniture
pieces for family and friends using the machinery
at his high school wood shop. The demand for
his pieces grew to the point that he had to set up
his own shop in the basement of his parent’s house.
After a year he had out grown his space and
moved to a 1000 sf building in Germantown, WI.
As sole proprietor and employee Dean was
commissioned to create many exquisite
furniture items.

As Essmann’s reputation grew, so did his backlog
of work. Reluctantly Dean had brought on an
apprentice to help him with some of the less
detailed aspects of cabinet making, always
watching his progress knowing the Essmann’s
name went out with every item leaving his shop.

After having to rent more storage space through
out the area, in 1990 Dean had purchased a piece of property just north of his shop on what is now the Essmann’s corporate campus. Along with the land he
put up a 5,000 sq.ft. building designed just for
woodworking.
In 1995 Essmann’s was able to triple their
square footage with the addition of a new
building again laid out to maximize material
flow for the woodworking trades and a dedicated solid lumber, fabrication and shipping and receiving area.
In 2003 he added an additional 9,000 sq.ft.

Through foresight Dean had been able to acquire the latest state of art machinery to keep him competitive
for many years to come.
As we enter the 21-century Essmann’s continues
to supply cabinetry and furniture for many
fortune 500 companies through out the United States and for individuals that understand and
demand quality with every product produced by Essmann’s Cabinetry and Millwork.

Along with supplying woodwork for corporate offices, hotels and conference centers,
Essmann's component division supplies cut to size panels, premachined products
and mouldings to hundreds of smaller cabinet shops and fabricators through
